The third ever Big Sky Django Jazz Festival will take place on April 7th and 8th, 2023, in Missoula, MT. This year the festival brings together 15 musicians from across Montana including Cottonwood Club from Helena, Montana Manouche from Bozeman, and Night Blooming Jasmine from Missoula for two nights of hot club swing and dance. Started in 2017 by Billings band Rimrock Hot Club, the BSDJ Festival is the only music festival in Montana dedicated to celebrating the sublime music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapellie’s Quintet of the Hot Club of France. Strings and accordions take the place of horns and drums in this infectious European interpretation of American jazz standards popular in the 1930-40’s. Dress your best for two unforgettable nights of swing and don’t forget your dancing shoes!
